Water Music

In “Water Music”, Peter Dušek invites viewers into a world where the ephemeral dance of light and wind on water becomes a visual symphony. This series of abstract photographs captures the fluid interplay of the sun, wind and water, transformed into compositions that evoke rhythm, harmony, and movement. Water, in its ceaseless flux, serves as both canvas and collaborator for Dušek, while light and wind act as seen and unseen composers, shaping patterns that resonate like notes in a melody. Large and bold, the finished works range from 36 x 64 to 58 x 88 inches in size, in editions of 5 + 2 artist’s proofs. Echoing Jackson Pollock and the dynamic spontaneity of Abstract Expressionism, Dušek harnesses a parallel energy, where nature’s unpredictable gestures recall the bold, gestural freedom of that movement.

Sun. Wind. Water.

Dušek’s process is one of observation and surrender. Equipped with a camera, he seeks out moments where the ordinary becomes extraordinary—where light and wind trace fleeting patterns across the surface of water. These images are not mere representations but interpretations, crossing the line from reality to abstraction. The result is a series that feels at once familiar and otherworldly, inviting contemplation of nature’s artistry.

Water Music” is an exploration of transience and the beauty found in impermanence. It asks viewers to listen with their eyes—to hear the whispers of wind, the pulse of waves, and the shimmer of light as they weave together in a symphony that exists only for an instant, preserved for a lifetime.
